A strange thing happened yesterday. I wasn't able to connect to my VSNL account all day. I wondered why. It was only later in the evening that I realised what was happening. My login ID on VSNL is myshortname@vsnl.com. My email ID is mylongname@vsnl.com. Since VSNL suddenly started rejecting my login ID, I took a chance on my email ID, and lo and behold, I was able to connect.
